Research from Coulters, using Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government data, has revealed that Calderdale sits in fifth spot for locations where empty homes are on the decline, with a 16% decrease in vacant dwellings year-on-year.

The figures for Calderdale show 3,143 vacant dwellings in 2019 compared to the previous year where the figure showed 3,746 - a drop of 16%.

There are currently a shocking 640,000 empty homes in England, which account for 2.65% of all houses. However, some areas are seeing a huge decline in empty properties.
