The show will end with a special thank you to the NHS and all key workers, as part of the weekly, nationally recognised ‘Clap For Our Key Workers' initiative.

The Leader of Calderdale Council, CounTim Swift, said: “Our local entertainment venues may be closed, but through Calderdale Live, we’re determined to continue to bring some light relief and positivity into people’s lives, both in Calderdale and beyond.

“Those tuning in to our social media streams next Thursday will be in for a treat, as we showcase some of the local area’s finest talent, for an evening of entertainment – direct into your living room.

“The concert will be free to watch, but we’re asking people, if they’re able, to make a donation to Calderdale’s Community Resilience Fund, to help our vulnerable residents.

“We’re all facing new challenges as we adjust to the changes in our daily lives as a result of COVID-19. Calderdale Live is a fantastic idea which will bring a much needed boost in these difficult times.”

Steve Duncan, Chief Executive of the Community Foundation for Calderdale, said:

“It's sad that COVID-19 is hitting us so soon after flooding, but we are working with Calderdale Council, CFFC supporters and key partners to build a Community Resilience Fund.

“The fund is supporting local front line charities and vulnerable residents. We want to be able to look after these people and show that Calderdale cares.”
