ART lovers are invited to a feature exhibition at Water Street Gallery.
“Small works show and ‘...just in case’” runs until Thursday, January 8, at the venue on Water Street, Todmorden.
Gallery owners Mike and Rosemary Holcroft set local artists the challenge of creating artworks inside a CD case and they said the response was fantastic.
Rosemary said: “To maintain integrity on such a small scale is a big ask, but it worked.
“Testament to this are some 300 works, including visual walls of paintings, photography, prints, 3D and textile works, which are set alongside fine crafts and jewellery. These are all also affordable, collectable and attractive art works.”
The artists were also encouraged to focus on Todmorden itself as a subject, and the Town Hall, various streets, the Rochdale Canal and people and birds are all featured.
“A further bonus to us was to include a group of A level graphic design students from Todmorden High School, many of whom are progressing to pursue a career in the arts, who are exhibiting works involved in an Incredible Edible project,” added Rosemary.
The gallery is open Mondays to Saturdays from 9.30am to 5.30pm and Sundays 11am to 3pm. For more information telephone 01706 839714 or email email@example.com.
