Incredible Edible Todmorden’s next community course on the Big Blue Bus will be held on Tuesday March 29. The course, which runs in Todmorden from 11am until 1pm and in Cornholme from 1-3pm, will include tasty recipes, cooking lessons and a chance to exercise in the upper deck mobile gym. HX7 Jazz Club presents the Snake Davis Quartet tonight (Thursday). Snake is widely known for his saxophone solos on tracks such as M-People’s ‘Search for a hero’ and Take That’s ‘A million love songs’. He will be joined for the gig by Paul Birchall on keyboards, Bryan Hargreaves on drums and Neil Fairclough on bass. Other events in the coming week include Mixtape on Friday March 25 and a return to the Trades Club for Chris Difford on Thursday March 31 with Boo Hewerdine and Dorie Jackson. A variety evening will be held at the White Lion tonight (Thursday) at 7pm. The event, which will feature Lancashire poetry, prose and music on an environmental theme, is part of Pantisocracy Week, promoted by Rossendale Climate Change Group. Admission is £4 (£2.50) on the door.

Cragg Vale Junior and Infant School will host a quiz night on Friday March 25 at 7.30pm. A bar and refreshments will be available. James McAvoy and Emily Blunt lend their voices to characters in animated film ‘Gnomeo and Juliet’ at the Picture House on March 26 and 27. Two garden gnomes try to avoid tragedy and find a happy ending to their star-crossed love affair in this comical makeover of Shakespeare’s classic tale.
