If you believe Mytholmroyd and Cragg Vale are fantastic places to live, Northern Rail and the Mytholmroyd Station Partnership want to hear from you.

They want residents to submit photographs that encapsulate the spirit of the area with images of what it is like to live in and visit this picturesque part of the world.

The winning photograph will be used in a poster promoting the area as a destination and the winning photographer will win a trip for two to London.

Pete Myers, client and stakeholder manager for Northern Rail, said: “All photographs entered will be displayed on the Northern Rail facebook page and each month a number will be chosen to be printed off and displayed at the station. The overall winner will be chosen early next year and the photograph used on posters and the Northern Rail website to promote Mytholmroyd and the surrounding area.

“Any phone or camera can be used as long as the image truly captures the spirit of living in and visiting Mytholmroyd, not necessarily the railway station or the trains, because it is the place and the people that is truly interesting, so use your imagination and get those shutters clicking.”

The competition will be officially launched on July 22 at The Good Shepherd Centre, Mytholmroyd at 12pm.

Entries need to be emailed to pete.myers@northernrail.org, preferably in jpeg form, and as the overall winner will be put onto a poster, ensure to use a good level of definition.
