Appeal goes to Secretary of State

AN APPEAL has been made to the Secretary of State for the Environment after Calderdale Council refused a planning application in Todmorden.

Mr Ian Highley of 23 Dale Street appealed after the council refused permission for plans to build a new roof including dormers to the front and rear.

The appeal will be decided on the basis of an exchange of written statemnts by the parties and a site visit by an inspector.

Any comments following the original application will be forwarded to the Planning Inspectorate and taken into consideration, but further comments will not be acknowledged unless the Inspectorate is specifically asked to do so.

Three copies of any new representations should be sent to the Planning Inspectorate by March 7.
