Solo singers or groups aged 16 or over can apply by turning up on the day. Acts are advised to arrive early as auditions are on a first come, first served basis.

If they are successful at the auditions they will be in with a chance of performing in front of the X-Factor judges this summer.

X-Factor judge Simon Cowell said: “We’re excited to start auditions again this year for The X Factor.

“If you think you have got what it takes then why don’t you apply? And remember, one audition could change your life.”

Acts including One Direction, Olly Murs and Little Mix have gone on to have successful music careers after appearing on the show, which is now in its 13th series.
