A GROUP of local DJs are bringing the boogie to the upper Calder Valley this weekend.
Up Jump the Boogie takes place from 9pm to 1am on Saturday at Nelsons Wine Bar, Crown Street, Hebden Bridge, and is a chance for local mix masters to show off their talents.
Todmorden resident Ben Lilly, who will be performing on the night, said: “We do it bi-monthly. It is just a group of local DJs that have all done other projects and other nights, who just get together to do an underground disco, punk and soul night.
“It has been proving really popular. It is always really packed out and everyone seems to enjoy it. There is a real mixed crowd that come.
“I play classic disco and then I try and dray out rarer disco tracks. I also throw a little bit of funk and other stuff that people like.”
“But it is just good for local DJs to get an opportunity to play packed nights at Nelsons.”
Around 150 people are expected to attend the event, which is free to enter.
Playing on the night will be Ben Lilly and Tony Allen (too cool Tony) - from Heavy Crates, Jurgen Bernard and Louis Finch.
