Fire crews were called to what they believe was a deliberate building fire in Illingworth last night (Saturday).

The incident at a derelict building in Abbey Park happened at around 7.30pm.

Crews from Illingworth and Halifax attended and used two hose reels and four breathing apparatus to extinguish the flames.

Nobody was injured in the incident and crews left around 9.30pm.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but fire officers believe it was caused deliberately.
