The votes have been counted and we can now reveal Todmorden’s favourite pub - the Top Brink Inn, Lumbutts.
Over the last few weeks we have been inviting our readers to vote for the best of the town’s hostelries in our Todmorden News Pub of the Year 2013 competition.
After the first round of voting, three pubs made it through to the final round.
The Top Brink Inn saw off competition from The House That Jack Built, on Burnley Road, and The Woodpecker, Rochdale Road, Shade, to pick up the prize.
Brothers Mark and Martin Ashton, who own the Top Brink Inn, were delighted to hear they had won the competition.
Mark said: “We would like to thank our loyal customers for their support and our staff for all their hard work in helping to achieve this and other awards.
“As a family, we are extremely proud of the pub.
“We have built it up over the past 22 years and aim to continue to develop our brand of quality home-made food and premium drinks at reasonable prices.”
John Kenealy, editor of the Todmorden News, passed on his congratulations to the Top Brink Inn.
“It’s been a really good competition,” he said.
“Todmorden has some great pubs and it’s fantastic to see them doing so well and defying the economic gloom.
“I hope they continue their success in the future.”
