The Fox & Goose Co-operative Pub in Hebden Bridge is gearing up to its first birthday bash this weekend – the climax of a month of celebrations.
An all-day beer and music event takes place at the Heptonstall Road pub on Saturday, March 21, from 12noon ‘til late, featuring a varied programme of local musicians and, of course, the Cohoperative birthday beer, plus usual wide selection of ales.
Despite ordering 29 nine-gallon casks – the equivalent of 2,000 pints - the birthday beer proved so popular after its launch at the end of February, that it had to be temporary taken off the pumps so that it would not run out before the birthday weekend. It was brewed specially for the occasion by Mallinsons of Huddersfield, and this is the last chance ever for beer aficionados to sample this particular recipe.
Friday night, (March 20), sees a performance at 8.30pm by local folk musician John Campbell as part of his UK Tour. All welcome.
