MORE than 200 people gathered at Todmorden Unitarian Church to tuck into a community feast.
The event, organised by Incredible Edible Todmorden, was held to mark the end of the group’s adult learning programme and celebrate its success.
Several cooks and chefs prepared a variety of dishes for people to sample on the day, and there were also some cookery demonstrations.
Sally Darlington, one of Incredible Edible Todmorden’s food inspirers, said: “It was a great day.
“The weather was lovely, which helps.
“It was a celebration of the adult learning courses, which have come to an end.
“Some of the tutors came and cooked on the day.
“People who attended the courses came to collect their certificates and attend a party, a bit like a mini harvest festival.”
The adult learning programme has featured 80 courses held in recent months.
“It has been a great success,” Sally said.
At the community feast, there was a board on which people could write about how they would like to continue their learning.
“We are going to extend the programme a little bit,” Sally said. “More courses will be on offer quite soon.”
She thanked everybody who contributed to the programme and attended the events.
There was special praise for Central Garage for transporting the mobile kitchen.
