HALF a dozen dance pupils brought home 17 trophies from a dance competition in Manchester.
Even though only six pupils from the Dawn Chapman School of Dance entered into the Inter-School Ballroom and Latin Competition, which was held at Little Hulton in Manchester in April, they brought home a total of 17 trophies.
Dawn Chapman said it was a fantastic day of dancing with all the girls thoroughly enjoying themselves.
The ballroom dance section was held first with Taylor Scholfield dancing the waltz in the Under Eight's One Dance. Taylor, age seven, came second in this section with Romina Thomas, aged eight, also coming second in the Under Ten's Two Dance where she also had to dance the quick-step as well as the waltz.
Both Sophie Lally and Susannah Leah, aged 11, were entered into the Under 12's Two Dance with Sophie winning the event and Susannah being placed second.
Eleven-year-old Raven Eames dancing the waltz, quick-step, tango and foxtrot came first in the Under 12's Four Dance section while Shelley Mill, age 12, came second dancing the same dances in the Four Dance Under 16's event.
After a short break the dancing resumed with the Latin section of the competition with Taylor Scholfield coming first in the Under Eight's One Dance with the cha cha, Romina Thomas came fourth runner up in the Under Ten's Two Dance where she also danced the samba. In the Under 12's Two Dance it was a table turn around in which Susannah Leah took first place with Sophie Lally coming in second.
Dancing the cha cha, samba, jive and rumba Raven Eames once again came first in the Under 12's Four Dance with Shelley Mill dancing the same dances in the Under 16's Four Dance also taking first place.
