A LEVEL students in Calderdale have achieved the borough’s best ever results this summer.
Early indications show that the average points score per entry – the way in which A-level results are measured – is higher than ever.
Calderdale councillors have passed on their congratulations to the students on their success.
Coun Megan Swift, cabinet member with lead responsibility for children and young people, said: “Congratulations to all of those pupils who have worked so hard to achieve the results they were hoping for.
“But I would also like to give a word of encouragement to those pupils who didn’t get the results they were expecting.
“They shouldn’t panic, but should seek advice from their schools on the best options available - the exam results helpline on 0808 100 8000 or visit www.direct.gov.uk where a whole range of help and advice is available.”
Coun Ashley Evans, cabinet member with responsibility for lifelong learning, said: “I am delighted for all of those children and young people who have worked so hard to achieve their goals.
“We also need to acknowledge the support of the schools, staff and parents.
“Their efforts have been invaluable in helping our young people to achieve good A level results.”
