In March the 8th/26th Calder Valley scouts had a night walk up to Stoodley Pike, Todmorden.
More than 20 Scouts and Explorers, with leaders and three parents took part in the walk. The walk was intended to give the Scouts and Explorers some experience of night walking prior to a planned night hike in a few weeks’ time.
On the night the weather was fine and unusually warm, making the walk pleasant and enjoyable for all who took part. At the pike the opportunity was taken to enrol one of the Explorers following his move from the Scout troop to the Explorer unit.
