FLOOD victims had a morale boosting day out at Alton Towers after the theme park’s Fantastical Express bus arrived in Todmorden.
Throughout the summer, Alton Towers Resort has been inviting people to nominate their towns and cities for a well deserved visit by the Fantastical Express, which whisks them away for a free day out to boost spirits.
PR manager Elizabeth West said: “The trip was extremely successful and we had some great feedback from the people of Todmorden.
“We hope that sending the Alton Towers Resort’s Fantastical Express to the town gave the residents a great summer escape and went some way to making the community smile after the recent flooding.”
Todmorden made the shortlist and was chosen as one of the five places the bus would visit.
It arrived in town on Saturday, picking up 28 Todmorden residents at the bus station and taking them to the theme park.
Katherine Duckworth, head of consumer marketing at the Alton Towers Resort, said: “We have been inundated with nominations from all over the country but the nomination for Todmorden really stood out for us.
“Having been affected by serious flooding over the last few months, we really hope that by sending the Fantastical Express to the town, and giving the community a great summer escape, we helped to bring something positive to Todmorden.”
The bus had the word Todmorden emblazened along the side, as well as the names of some of the passengers.
