TODMORDEN Lions Club has come to the aid of one of the town’s groups with a donation of £250.
Todmorden Independent Living Group, which works with adults to develop self-help and social skills, had to cancel one of its annual outings due to lack of funds.
After writing to the Lions about its plight, the group was awarded a cheque so that the trip could still go ahead.
Scheme co-ordinator Sandra Peach said: “We appreciate this donation from the Lions very much.
“The money will go towards the cost of outings, especially theatre trips, which the whole group enjoy.”
A Todmorden Lions spokesperson said the outings were very beneficial.
“The Lions members wanted to help the group continue their much needed trips,” the spokesperson said.
