HEADTEACHER Helen Plaice has praised the “committed and caring” staff at Todmorden High School for support given to A-level students.
“Many students have expressed thanks to their teachers. I would echo that, and acknowledge the impact of the commitment and care that our teachers show every day,” she said.
“We have some outstanding classroom practitioners and are working hard to spread the practice across the school.
“My thanks also go to parents and other members of the Todmorden community, whose support has been vital to this success.”
Melissa Wells, assistant headteacher with responsibility for student progress, said: “Students have worked closely with the key stage five progress team, under the leadership of Mike Kershaw and Philippa McNamara, and the impact of this can be seen in these amazing A-level results.
“We have a really comprehensive package now that supports and challenges students to achieve their very best.
“We take care to ensure our students are educated for their life ahead and the success of this can be seen in the high number of students who made successful applications to university this year.”
