Saturday morning, May 9, sees the official launch of Dementia Friendly Todmorden, with some special guest speakers.
The group, which aims to provide help for those who have been diagnosed with the condition and their families, is hosting a special event at Todmorden Town Hall, which opens to the public from 10.30am, with a range of exhibitors on hand to answer people’s questions and provide advice.
Guest speakers include top QC Cherie Blair CBE, whose husband is former Prime Minister Tony Blair, and Mark Burns-Williamson, West Yorkshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner.
Cherie’s father is a actor Tony Booth, who lives in Todmorden with his wife Steph and has the condition. There will be a selection of information, free refreshments and stalls and help and advice.
