Fourteen new homes are planned for a former Walsden mill site.
Todmorden Town Council’s development committee was last night set to discuss the plans, to build 14 homes at the Alma Mill site, Alma Street, submitted by Mr and Mrs Rogers to Calderdale Council whose councillors will ultimately decide the application.
The mill, founded in 1855 and in use until around a decade ago when the firm Webtex closed, was demolished around 2008-9.
A supporting statement drawn up by agent Mr Tony Deakin says site restrictions for further employment use - for example accessibility by today’s industrial vehicles - make it suitable for housing instead. Three and four bedroom homes are planned.
