A horse has been rescued from a ditch in Walsden.

Firefighters from Todmorden and the technical rescue team from Cleckheaton were called to Hollingworth Lane at 11.48am yesterday (Monday).

It is believed the horse had fallen into the ditch in the early hours of the morning.

The horse was pulled to safety thanks to the help of a local farmer and his tractor. The horse has been exmained by a vet and is said to be doing well.
