To celebrate their move to new premises, Todmorden Christian Fellowship is hosting a celebration for the town.
On June 16 members moved from their worship venue at the Boat House, Stackhills Road, to Central Methodist Church, Todmorden, where services are held at 2pm each Sunday.
Hugh and Alison Stansfield, who had hosted the church at their home for the last seven years, sent the members off with a prayer of blessing.
Together, members of the church walked from there to their new venue and were greeted by members of the Methodist congregation. Many of the Methodist congregation had stayed after their morning service to welcome the Fellowship to their new home. It was a joyous occasion, said Fellowship leader Clare Ashton, adding: “We’ve been made to feel so welcomed and wanted by Central. It has taken a year of searching for a new premises and then waiting for approval from higher up the Methodist Church so we are so pleased to be here at last.”
To celebrate their move, Todmorden Christian Fellowship is hosting a celebration for the town on June 30 from 2pm to 5pm at Central Methodist Church. The event, titled Join The Journey, will have activities for all the family and weather permitting will spill out on to the Rose Street garden area. There will also be a pamper station, quiz, live music and refreshments including home-made cakes for those not wishing to be quite so active. A worship party will end the event from 4.30pm to 5pm with a band from Halifax leading thanksgiving for the provision of the venue.
