Lions’ thanks for flood appeal donations

TODMORDEN Lions have expressed their thanks to the people who have contributed to their appeal to help those affected by the recent flooding.

More than £400 has been donated to the account at Lloyds Bank in Todmorden.

Todmorden Lions have obtained a grant of £6,500 from Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) and £600 from the local Lions district. Other Lions clubs in Yorkshire and Lancashire have promised to send donations.

Belle Riley ran a stall on Todmorden Market on Sunday on behalf of the appeal and raised £91.

This week, Todmorden Lions have started giving out grants to people affected so they can buy food and replace damaged equipment.

Lion Rod Wainwright said: “The account at Lloyds Bank is still open. Donations can be handed to any Lions member, so please give generously.”
