STUDENTS at Todmorden High School have been getting to know some new feathered friends.
After successfully applying to the charity Unlimited earlier this year, the school received a £1,500 grant for a chicken enclosure to be shared between the school and the community.
The enclosure is now up and running, several chickens are on site and their eggs are being used in the school kitchen.
Teacher Paul Murray said: “Everybody pitches in and helps look after them.”
Jack Greenwood, one of the sixth formers who helps out as part of the school’s agriculture course, said: “It’s good, something a bit different.”
