Man arrested in election probe

A CANDIDATE for the Todmorden ward seat at the Calderdale Council elections has been arrested on suspicion of election fraud.

David Jones was arrested by police in Todmorden on Friday.

The 26-year-old was questioned and released on bail pending further inquiries.

Mr Jones is standing for the British People’s Party in next month’s elections.

In a statement to the Todmorden News, he denied any wrongdoing.
