Todmorden Rotary Club’s blood pressure measuring day was a great success, say club members who organised it with the help of Todmorden Group Practice’s nursing team.
More than 200 people called in to the session, held at Central Methodist Church, Bramsche Square, Todmorden.
Vicky Challenger, nurse manager at Todmorden Health Centre, said: “It was a very busy day – but very rewarding.
“People with high blood pressure are seven times more likely to have a stroke, and these days it can generally be managed through lifestyle and medication. We were able to advise quite a number of people to make appointments with their own GP’s surgery.”
