A SCHOOL is inviting the community to attend a special event as part of its centenary celebrations.

Later this month, Ferney Lee School is having an open afternoon for former pupils, staff and governors. The event, on Sunday March 25, will start a week of celebrations to mark the 100th anniversary of the opening of the school building.

There will be displays of memorabilia and old photographs, giving people a chance to look back and reminisce about their time at the school.

A school spokesperson said: “We would like to welcome past pupils, governors, staff and anybody who has had anything to do with the school.”

Refreshments will be available and commemorative mugs and bags will be on sale at the event, which runs from 2-4pm. Free entry.
