CENTRE Vale Park has retained its prestigious Green Flag status.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that the Todmorden park is one of several in Calderdale to have reached the national standard which recognises well-managed, high quality areas.

Green Flag Plus Partnership chairman Phil Barton said: “The importance of good-quality green spaces cannot be over-estimated. They are central to the growth of our communities, both socially and economically.

“The Green Flag Award Scheme is essential in driving the standards of our parks and green spaces.”

Calderdale Council Cabinet spokeswoman Coun Pauline Nash said she was delighted.

“I would like to congratulate everyone involved in this wonderful achievement,” she said.
