5. Brighouse and Rastrick Band
Brighouse and Rastrick Band was formed in 1881 and is a world-famous brass band. In 1977 their recording of Derek Broadbents Floral Dance held the No.2 position in the British singles chart for nine weeks.
In 1936 John Mackintoshs son Harold invented the iconic chocolate selection tin Quality Street. The name was inspired by a play of the same name by J. M. Barrie and it is still produced in the Halifax factory.
Back in 2017, the UKs tallest outdoor man-made climbing wall opened in Brighouse attracting brave climbers from far and wide to take it on. ROKTFACE stands 36m high and is taller than the Angel of the North.
