A DRIVER was stopped by police for travelling 50mph over the speed limit.
The 49-year-old man was going at 80mph along a 30mph stretch of Burnley Road in Todmorden when he was spotted by officers from the Upper Valley Neighbourhood Policing Team who were conducting speed checks in the area.
He was reported for summons to court for speeding, driving without a current MOT and valid insurance.
Police have issued a further four fixed penalty notices to drivers on the same stretch of road in the last month.
These consisted of a £60 fine plus three penalty points.
Officers have also conducted speed checks on Rochdale Road and Halifax Road, Todmorden.
