REGULARS at a Todmorden pub dressed in pink last weekend to support the landlady’s cousin who is receiving treatment for breast cancer in America.
Susan Whittaker, of the Woodpecker Inn, on Rochdale Road, organised the event to raise money to help cover the cost of her cousin Bev Dransfield’s treatment at a clinic in Phoenix, Arizona.
Staff and regulars wore pink bras, tutus and other items of clothing during the day, which also included raffles and a bucket collection around Todmorden.
Susan thanked everybody who contributed to the total of £551.35 which was raised on Saturday.
She said: “Thank you to everyone at the Woodpecker Inn, especially those in on Saturday night.
“We would like to thank Billy, Gina, Charlie, Brent and Derek for going into Todmorden pubs and collecting £220.
“Thank you very much to all.”
The money will contribute towards the cost of mother of two Bev’s treatment, which includes low levels of chemotherapy, a special diet and homeopathic remedies.
