PUPILS at Todmorden High School have raised £387 for Oxfam - and hope to increase the total even further.
After completing a project in lessons, year ten geography students asked teachers if they could start an appeal to raise money for charity.
The school has been selling equipment such as pens and other stationery items and the funds raised will be donated to Oxfam.
Over the past few months, pupils have been bringing in one and two pence coins to add to the total.
Teacher Hannah Lees said: “I’m really impressed by the money they have raised.
“They really wanted to raise lots of money.
“It was fascinating to see them working together.
“I’m very proud of them.”
She said the school will continue fundraising to support Oxfam’s work.
