Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) were called out twice yesterday - once to help an injured mountain biker and then to rescue a 17-year-old boy who had fallen whilst rock climbing.
The team received its first call from Yorkshire Ambulance Service at around 12pm to help with locating and rescuing the mountain biker, who had been left with head injuries after falling off his bike.
When the team got to Gorple Cottage, Widdop, they found the paramedic on scene had the incident under control and were stood down.
Then at 6.30pm, the team were asked to urgently assist with the rescue of the teenage rock climber, who had fallen at Heptonstall Quarry and sustained head injuries.
The boy was assessed on scene by Yorkshire Air Ambulance paramedics and was then taken to hospital for further treatment.
The team stood down at 9pm.
