Richard Crossland is on course to complete his marathon walk of the Pennine Way at Kirk Yetholm in Northumberland on Friday, to raise money for cancer charities.
The past week has seen Todmorden Cricket Club stalwart Richard, who has battled cancer three times in as many years, and walking partner Brian Windle pass the 200-mile mark and head for the finish.
They have overcome Richard’s problem with sore feet solved by getting his special walking insoles to him, while Brian lost and found his wallet. They have also endured wet feet on a lengthy stretch of marshy grass and put in extra miles due to a navigational error. But they have also had some lovely weather, great views and landmarks like Thirwell Castle and Hadrian’s Wall.
