IT may be officially winter but springtime has come earlier in a couple’s garden.
David and Susan O’Neill, of Stones Road, Todmorden, have daffodils flowering around their home at an unusually early time of year.
Susan said the daffodils started to bloom at the start of December.
“I had one flower three years ago over Christmas, but I await to find out how so high up in the Pennines it can have decided to emerge so early,” she said.
David said: “They are still in full flower despite all the rain and wind.
“They have been out nearly a month now. I can’t understand why.
“We are so high up here, it’s incredible.
“We had them flowering on New Year’s Day once but we have never had them this early, ever.”
