On Friday, November 14, local band ten fields are holding a special album launch event at the Stubbing Wharf, Hebden Bridge.
The band is Mytholmroyd-based singer-songwriter Rhys Kelly, with long-term collaborators Nathan Kelly and Rick Robinson.
Their music has influences of folk, alt-country and songwriters like Neil Finn and Jeff Tweedy (Wilco), and is characterised by beautifully crafted melodies, harmony vocals, and rich arrangements.
Rhys is a very experienced writer and musician, also playing with the established band Wilful Missing.
He has performed at venues and festivals around the UK, opening for well-known acts including Abigail Washburn, Martin Stephenson, Eliza Carthy, Simon Felice, and many others.
The new album by ten fields is titled ‘Winter Sun – Summer Rain’ and is being released on CD and as a digital download.
It was recorded over a period of three years, and was mastered at the local Calder Studios.
The album is already attracting radio airplay in the UK and the U.S., and looks set to generate a much larger audience for the bands’ music.
To celebrate the release, ten fields will be playing an intimate acoustic set at the Stubbing Wharf, Hebden Bridge, for friends, family and supporters of the band.
Tickets are available on the door or through the band website. Doors open at 8.30pm.
