THIS spring, get your cameras ready to photograph Todmorden in bloom - and you could brighten up Christmas!
Todmorden In Bloom are planning to print up some Christmas cards to raise funds for the group this Christmas - but now’s the time to think about taking your photograph which may make the final cut, said Jean Butterworth of the volunteer group.
“We’re want people to submit their favourite images of Todmorden in bloom to us. It can be your favourite flower, plant, container or a shot of a beautiful garden or hillside,” she said.
Beauty doesn’t have to be in colour either, she said. Black and white images or sepia could win, and there are no age restrictions for entry.
Jean said submitted prints should be around 6 inches by four inches, and anyone entering needs to note that entries won’t be returned.
Electronically, pictures could be submitted in jpg format on a CD-R, she said.
Images should be dropped in, marked Todmorden In Bloom - Christmas Cards, at Todmorden Tourist Information Centre on Burnley Road by the deadline of June 30.
Each entry should also attach the sender’s name, address and email or telephone number.
Jean said there isn’t a prize as yet, but winners’ names will be on the card.
“We hope people will keep their eyes open through the spring and early summer, and brighten people’s Christmas,” she said.
