It is 30 years since Mayor-Elect Coun Greenwood, pictured in the Deputy Mayor’s regalia, took the chain of office to become Mayor of Todmorden first time around, in 1986-87.

Coun Greenwood, for many years headteacher at Colden School, was a Todmorden Town Councillor for 26 years, representing Walsden ward, until stepping down in 2007.

After a break he returned to the town council after being elected in Stoodley ward at last year’s elections and now serves on the amenities and general purposes committee.

This time around he will take over the role from Coun Steph Booth at the ceremony, with a reception held in the Town Hall’s ballroom.
