A MARCH and function will be held later this month to celebrate Armed Forces Day.
To mark the event, Todmorden Royal British Legion has organised the short march and social function which will take place on Sunday June 26.
The march will leave the Stansfield Road car park at 11.30am, proceeding to the Royal British Legion Club car park for the function.
It is hoped that many World War Two veterans will attend, as well as some more recent combatants. There may also be some military vehicles at the event.
A spokesman said: “It is hoped that old comrades will be able to meet and share memories, particularly as, sadly, their numbers are slowly depleting and their efforts and sacrifices should be honoured and respected.”
The Royal British Legion is marking its 90th anniversary this year.
