People from Hebden Bridge and Todmorden were at a Support Gaza vigil in Hebden Bridge.

A spokesperson for Yorkshire CND said it had been organised by a Hebden Bridge woman called Chris who began the vigil at St George’s Square, Hebden Bridge, following the ongoing conflict at Gaza, the area of Palestine that borders Israel, alone last Friday but others from the two towns had joined it over the weekend.

The spokesperson said that sometime this week there would be a candlelit vigil for those who had lost their lives in the conflict.

A music concert billed as an emergency fundraiser for Gaza is being held at Hebden Bridge Trades Club, Holme Street, Hebden Bridge, on Friday, August 1, for which entry is £3 (members and concessions) or £9 (others), organised by Yorkshire CND. The doors open at 8pm.

It will feature live music and DJs as a benefit gig for Medical Aid for Palestine, said the spokesperson.
