North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a Todmorden motorcyclist was killed in a crash near Clapham.

Mr Higgins was riding a multi-coloured Ducati motorcycle which was involved in a collision with a silver Ford Focus car.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford Focus, an 83-year-old man from Burnley, was not injured.

Traffic sergeant Pete Stringer, of North Yorkshire Police’s roads policing group, said: “If you witnessed the incident or were in the area around the time of the collision, I am urging you to come forward and contact the police straight away.

“It is possible that you may have vital information that could assist our investigation.

“I am also asking anyone who may have seen either of the vehicles involved prior to the incident to get in touch as soon as possible.”

Anybody with information is asked to contact Skipton police on 101, select option two and ask for Paul Cockerill.
