We felt we had to write to thank a couple who saved the day for us.
My sister-in-law booked tickets for us to see a show Leeds on June 23 some months previous, but due to the floods the night before we thought that we would have to give up our tickets as we were having difficulties getting a train from Todmorden. We were given conflicting information from the rail service, and were told to go back up to the station as transport was being supplied to take people to Hebden Bridge - only to be told no transport was being provided.
Off we went back to the bus station where we met a couple called Julie and Ian who said they had heard we could get to Hebden Bridge by road and after going home to get their car they picked us up and took us to the train station and we managed to see the show. On our return from the theatre we caught the train back to Hebden Bridge. Once again the couple were on the same train and they offered us a lift back to Todmorden. We give them our thanks.
