It was a proud day for one family when Bridgeholme seconds progressed to the third round of the Crossley Shield. They beat Northowram Hedge Top by 47 runs and Bridgeholme stalwart and first team opener Keith Hudson was there to watch his 16-year-old son James score his maiden century in the victory.

James hit 132 as Bridgeholme soared to 314 for eight.

There were good contributions from the other batsmen, notably Sam Dunkley, who got 55.

Bridgeholme then bowled the 10-man visitors out for 267, with all the bowlers contributing, especially Bobby Fielden, who got three for 39.
