A FINE knock of 65 by Ben Sutcliffe proved a match-winning innings for Todmorden in the Lancashire League Twenty/20 competition.
He and professional Qaiser Abbas who hit 39 put them in a winning position at Centre Vale over Colne.
Skipper Andrew Sutclife also scored 21 as Todmorden raced to 152 for four wickets.
Colne had no answer in reply to the home side. Abbas chipped in with two wickets for 13 and Lee Pearson joined the party with two for 14.
Skipper Sutcliffe said: “It was a very good team performance.
“All the bowlers were very disciplined and again the top order dominated the game.
“The Twenty/20 Cup isn’t something we have been too impressive in over the last couple of years, but I am confident that this year with the variety in our attack we can make a strong challenge.”
