WITH their game called off at the last minute Todmorden Borough now get set to meet their bogey side in the West Lancashire League Challenge Cup on Saturday (kick-off 1.30pm).
They face Milnthorpe Corinthians who have already beaten and drawn with them in the league this season, scoring four goals on each occasion.
“Surely they can’t score four goals against us again,” said manager John Gilford, who looks back over five seasons without a win at the Cumbrian club.
Borough lie third in the West Lancashire League Division Two, only three points behind leaders Ambleside United and one behind Burscough Richmond, who they should have played at home on Saturday.
Burscough travel to Ambleside on Saturday.
Borough’s home game against Burscough was called off at the last minute by the referee even though both Borough and the Southport side wanted to play.
Frost put paid to all football in the Upper Calder Valley.
Only teams with away games managed to play.
While a few games took place in the Halifax Saturday leagues, only Jack’s House in the Rochdale Online Alliance Premier Division and Todmorden Borough Reserves, at Lytham, of the Todmorden clubs managed to play.
Jack’s House went down 7 - 3 to league leaders Weavers Arms, while Borough Reserves gained a 1 - 1 draw
Sunday League games throughout the Upper Calder Valley area all had to be called off.
