WOODHOUSE United maintained their championship ambitions with a crushing home victory, beating Mark Twain nomads 4-0.
Things did not appear too rosy with Daniel Lively having to take over in goal, but he delivered the added bonus of a clean sheet.
Only seconds into the game a through ball found Callum Hallahan, but his fierce shot was turned for a corner.
From the kick, Mark Walters put Joe Whitham in with a chance, but his shot went over the bar.
After 10 minutes the home side got the goal they deserved when a Gary Fish free kick was deflected off the wall into the net.
Woodhouse doubled their lead when Darren Preece headed on a long throw and a defender headed the ball into his own net.
After the interval, another Fish free kick caused problems in the visitors’ defence and Josh Thompson played the ball on for Walters to hammer it home.
Oliver Wood came on for Hallahan and promptly gathered a pall from Walters before cutting inside to finish well.
He might have added another near the end, but his shot hit the post.
Woodhouse look a good bet for promotion, but manager Simon Randles wants more.
“We could just be caught, but I want to finish first and to do that we have to keep on winning.”
Woodhouse have four games left, three of they away.
