DUMINDA Perera’s heroics were not enough to help Walsden to a Twenty/20 win on Friday.

The Sri Lankan had to finish with Elliott Gilford as a runner after a leg injury.

He finished on 50 as top scorer in Walsden’s 124 for six.

There was good support from Gilford himself, who hit 27 and Joe Hanson who finished on 22 not out.

But it was not enough for Walsden to overtake Littleborough’s total of 143 for six.

All Walsden’s bowlers got wickets, with skipper Chris Dewhirst taking two.
