BOROUGH’S walking wounded gave a good account of themselves, but could not take their chances, while the home side grabbed theirs.
The visitors struggled to get a team together and went with 12 players.
They had hardly started when manager Craig Milnes had to go off, injured in a tackle.
Soon they were a goal down - against the run of play - and when captain Joe Hanson had to go off with a hamstring tweak, they were down to 10.
Despite it all they looked the stronger team but conceded another goal against the run of play just before the break.
Hanson opted to go back on and just “stand up front” in the second half, but they were soon back down to 10 when Nathan Knights also came off injured.
Still Borough performed well, with debutant James Staroszczuk and Jack Dungworth both having fine games.
But the depleted visitors were not able to hold on and the team from near the top of the division wore them down and grabbed two quick goals near the end, making it 4-0.
