Brighouse Town v Ashton United. James Hurtley for Brighouse.

They atoned for Monday’s 1-0 home defeat by Bamber Bridge with a fine second half fightback.

Town trailed to Mike Fish’s 14th minute effort at the break but Kurt Harris’s audacious lob eight minutes after the interval got them on terms.

James Hurtley’s firmly struck effort, following a Tom Robinson free kick, made it 2-1 to Brighouse on 71 minutes and Danny Facey’s easy finish with five minutes left made the points safe.

There was a sting in the tale as Mossley’s Tom Dean and Town’s Hurtley were red carded in added time.

Brighouse have finished 14th in the table with 59 points from 42 games.
