Town will face 15th-placed Ramsbottom United with confidence growing after a 2-1 success against Prescott Cables yesterday, which came hot on the heels of Monday’s 2-0 home win against Clitheroe.

Brighouse had to do it the hard way against Cables after trailing at half time to Joe Herbert’s 18th minute goal for the fourth-placed visitors.

They made a couple of substitutions and good work from Danny Naidole paved the way for Aaron Martin to level matters on 52 minutes.

The winner came 10 minutes later, Mohammed Ibrahim rounding the keeper to clinch Brighouse’s fourth win in six outings this month.

After the Ramsbottom match, Brighouse complete their league programme with a trip to 13th placed Droylsden next Saturday.

Town’s final two opponents met yesterday with Ramsbottom 3-1 home winners over Droylsden, helped by two Greg Daniels penalties.
